Reiki 1 is for self healing and for hands on work with others ie the recipient must be physically present. The meanings of the symbols are not taught. The attunement opens the student to the awareness of the flow of Reiki. The inner focus of Level 1 is about learning to become a peaceful ‘channel’ for Reiki. It’s about learning to let go or to ‘step out of the way’ and allowing the energy to flow where it needs to go without hindrance or being directed by us. The attitude is almost Zen like - compassionate, warm, still, being available for the client in a loving, deeply mindful space, letting go of all expectations (tricky!), but simply allowing the Reiki phenomenon to happen in it’s own way. This is a humbling process. Reiki both is us and yet greater than the individual ‘I’.

Reiki training is divided into 3 Levels. Completion of all Levels 1 and 2 qualifies students to practice Reiki, buy insurance and join professional associations. Completion of all 3 Levels qualifies students as a Reiki Master who is able to teach others.

Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils to enhance well-being and to stimulate, catalyse and harmonise a healthy physical, mental and emotional state. Aromatherapists blend therapeutic essential oils specifically for each individual and suggest methods of usage to stimulate the desired responses.

Today, ever more people are turning to traditional therapies such as Aromatherapy to enhance the quality of their lives. Aromatherapists work in a variety of business environments including private practice, mobile visiting practice, natural health clinics, beauty therapy clinics, health clubs, hospitals, hospices and nursing homes. These courses offer a new and rewarding career for people from a great variety of backgrounds, many who are embarking on a career change or those who wish to add an Aromatherapy qualification to their existing skills.

This qualification provides competence in aromatherapy practices. Practitioners at this level may be self employed as independent practitioners or may work within a larger health service. The qualification covers the provision of aromatherapy to clients with specific needs such as palliative and aged care, women and children. Practitioners at this level may supervise other Aromatherapists and may formulate for individual outcomes.

Students can choose to complete part or all of the Diploma – we welcome students who are interested in completing components of the course to gain a basic understanding of essential oils. Learn about where oils come from, how they are distilled, the chemical makeup of oils and how they can be incorporated into your personal life. Please note students are required to complete the full Diploma in order to become a practitioner.
